This weekend intensive explores the philosophies that shape biodesign, ecological art, digital biomimicry, and the emerging world of living materials. Whether you’re an artist, designer, researcher, or curious beginner, this workshop offers a grounding in how biological thinking transforms creative practice.
Across two evenings, we’ll delve into key ideas from environmental philosophy, ecofeminism, material relations, and speculative design. Through discussion, case studies, guided reflections, and exercises you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how to create meaningful, responsible, and imaginative work at the intersection of art, design, science, and technology.
Together, we’ll ask:
What does it mean to design with living collaborators? How can philosophy inform ecological creativity? And how might biodesign contribute to real cultural and environmental change?
Join us for a thoughtful, inspiring deep dive into the theories that expand what design—and life—can be.
Whether you come from design, art, science, ecology, permaculture, philosophy, or just curiosity, this seminar is about learning together, asking good questions, and finding new ways to think about the future of biodesign.
